The Barefoot Ball

Who doesn’t love bohemian dresses, festival glitter and feathers in your hair?

This is exactly what we had to look forward to when we were invited to attend the Barefoot Ball based at Trerethern Farm in Padstow. The event was created by the incredible Bluefizz Events team and after success from holding the ball in Croyde they decided to bring it to Cornwall.

When the day finally arrived to attend the Barefoot Ball. We started getting ready, placing glitter on our faces and getting Megan (my very talented friend who is also a photographer) to plait feathers in my hair I couldn’t wait to start the evening, even Stu got in the swing of the bohemian style (and pulled it off rather well).

When we arrived we could hear the gentle beat of the music in the background with the tall flags blowing in the air, strings of festival lights and impressive tipis. There was a real Ibiza festival feel. It was a perfect evening with the sun shining and everyone there had made an amazing effort with their outfits.

We were given a welcome drink of Prosecco with sweet pea flowers floating in them. A really beautiful touch.

On looking around we were so excited to see the Buffalo Bar and Padstow Brewing Company were there to provide everyone with drinks. What was even more exciting was that there was a photo booth with all the props you could imagine to capture the special night as well as the opportunity to have your very own “henna” tattoo.

We were soon called to take our seats to enjoy a delicious three course meal from the Woodfired Canteen Feasting Experience & Padstow Kitchen Garden, the tables were decorated so beautifully it was almost like we were at a wedding, and there was so much attention to detail.

Having attended a similar event with Wild Tipi, we loved that the concept was similar in that you were all seated together on long tables giving you an opportunity to mix with the other festival goers and integrate with people from all walks of life. From this we made some lovely new friends.

The meal was really tasty. For me and Stu it consisted of a salad starter, followed by a curried cauliflower with minted potatoes and a roasted peach with summer berries for dessert (we had gone for the vegan option).

After we had all filled our bellies, it was time for the charity auction. At these Bluefizz Events they pick a charity to raise money for and this year they were supporting the charity Wild, helping young families build a positive future.

As the sun went down it was time to get our dancing shoes on for the after party….

With music from the brilliant DJ duo Laird Grooves, it is safe to say we partied the night away only stopping for a cheeky photo booth opportunity and a quick cocktail making lesson with the Buffalo Bar (thanks guys).

To sum up the whole experience it was the most fun night. We could not recommend going to one of these events more. You will not regret it, head over to Instagram and give Blue Fizz Events a follow to keep up to date with their future events.

Thankyou so much Bluefizz for giving us the best time, you guys rock!!

*we were giving complimentary tickets for the purose of a review but all thoughts are our own.
